[vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]This morning, after a very poor nights sleep, I went looking for a relaxing yoga routine to help get my day back on track.
I found this calming 35 minute yoga practice by Mona Therese Winston, that does not have any strenuous poses.
For me, it was a perfect 35 minutes to revitalise, really open the chest and relieve the tension I woke up with today.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]This practice has a few easy forward fold inversions, that were great to release my sinus pressure, and I found the ‘Tree’ balancing pose very strengthening and grounding as well as helpful for my ankles, legs and back.
I think twists and lengthening from your core are very under-rated and so important when you have not slept well and suffer from a cranky back, neck and shoulders.
Mona Therese Winston has a very pleasant, soothing voice and she gently guides your breathing. As Mona says …
“Yoga is not about being flexible, it’s about being aware of your breathe.
Honour and respect your body, never force and push it.
Flexibility is just one of the benefits that comes with yoga over time,
but not necessarily within today, next week,
it can take years, so be patient.”
I really like this philosophy, it resonates with me. What do you think?
I used to think if exercise wasn’t pushing me to my limits then it wasn’t good enough. Now I realise how important it is to be mindful and listen to your body.
Sometimes high impact is what you need and sometimes a calmer, more relaxing, grounding practice is better for you – everyone is different and every day is different.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]Stay to the end for the best relaxation!
7 minutes of meditation with the sounds of the beach in the background was exactly what I needed!
I hope you enjoy this practice as much as I did …[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
